The Saturday racing action doesn’t end with the Kentucky Derby. The evening card at Prairie Meadows offers plenty of betting options for horseplayers planning a late night.
Race 1: Maiden (330 yards, 7:25 p.m. ET)
In this maiden race for Quarter Horses, the favorite will likely be #3 Mott the Hopple (2-1), who has come close in three of four starts. However, he has a worthy adversary who should provide some value on the tote board: #8 Jumpy Dash (9-2).
After a late-running third in her debut at the $6,250 maiden claiming level, Jumpy Dash stepped up to this protected level for her second start. Despite stumbling at the start, she got closer early and kept on for a close second. If Jumpy Dash comes away better this time she can take a step forward. And yes, she's a filly—but her first two starts also came against males, and she has run well enough to prove she fits.
$10 to win on #8 Jumpy Dash

Race 10: $7,500 claiming (5 1/2 furlongs, 11:26 p.m. ET)
It's the get-out race in Altoona, and the get-out race of the day unless you're staying up to bet the Los Alamitos Quarter Horses or Australia.
#1 Fashion Fact (9-2) has speed from the fence, and inside speed can be your friend in 5 1/2-furlong sprints at Prairie Meadows. Last out she disputed early, cleared to set a quick pace, and was run down late in a $10,000 claiming event for non-winners of two races lifetime. She’s inching down in class, but still finishes second a lot, so let's lean into that with an exacta play.
#7 Aquinas Advice (8-1) could not catch Fashion Fact last time, but acted up before the race that day. Better pre-race behavior might help, and she drops for her lowest tag ever. #8 Miss Aggie Bling (5-2) overcame a treacherous start to trounce $6,250 maiden claimers last out. Her trainer, Edward Hardy, has had an excellent Prairie Meadows meet, and his record with Quarter Horses reveals his maiden winners tend to fire right back.
$5 exacta: 7,8 with 1 ($10)
Good luck!
