Australian racing picks for Dubbo and Geelong

June 11th, 2020

There are another four fantastic Australian Thoroughbred venues available for BetAmerica players tonight, including Dubbo, the Gold Coast, Goulburn, and Geelong.

Despite it being winter in Australia, fortunately there are still a few dry tracks around. Both Geelong and Dubbo are rated a "Good 4" at the time of writing, both the Gold Coast and Goulburn are both heavy.

Here are a couple picks to get your night of Aussie racing action started.

Dubbo, Race 1: #3 Without Shame

I thought this 3-year-old gelding ran really well in his last start at Tamworth. He chased home another runner in this race, #2 Never Talk, and finished second behind that filly. Without Shame was caught three-wide for much of the trip, and even had to change paths down the stretch, but hit the line strongly.

The Sue Grills-trained runner will appreciate the extra half-furlong tonight and gains the services of one of the best country and provincial jockeys in the nation, Greg Ryan.

Geelong, Race 4: #2 Magicain

From the barn of trainer Aaron Purcell, and by sire Americain, this 5-year-old gelding is on his fourth run back from a layoff.

Magicain didn’t appear to handle the heavy track last start but wasn’t disgraced in a fourth-place finish. If we go two starts back, he ran an impressive second over this same track and trip. Replicating that performance will have him right in this race tonight. The 6-1 morning line odds look generous.

Good luck!
