Australian racing picks for Gold Coast and Geelong
Australian racing kicks off nice and early tonight, with the first of nine races from the Gold Coast scheduled for 9:12 p.m. ET. Three other Thoroughbred meetings from Down Under are available for BetAmerica players, including Moruya, Scone, and Geelong.
Here are a couple I’m keen on at the Gold Coast and Geelong.
Gold Coast, Race 1: #9 Somebody’s Girl
This Spirit Of Boom filly was extremely courageous in defeat last time out at the Gold Coast and looks well placed to break her maiden status. She was tenacious all the way to the line and just found one better on the day.
Somebody’s Girl will strip fitter for that first run back from a break, and she certainly has the pace to take advantage of that favorable inside post. The extra distance should also suit her. I expect her to lead and be very hard to run down.
Geelong, Race 2: #7 Think He Mei
He may just win tonight, after close tries in his last two outings. Think He Mei returns to Geelong after an encouraging run, over a similar distance he faces tonight, a few weeks ago. He finished strongly after he raced quite wide for parts of the trip.
Jockey Rhys McLeod may be able to put Think He Mei closer to the pace tonight, and with a better run in transit, he should be able to get the job done.
Fingers crossed he starts close to those 4-1 morning-line odds.
Good luck!
