Australian racing picks for Kembla Grange and Moe
BetAmerica horseplayers are spoiled for choice tonight, with five Thoroughbred meetings available to bet from Down Under. New Zealand gallops kick off at 6:45 p.m. E.T from Wanganui, before the Australian meetings start at Kembla Grange, Cairns, Moe, and Casino.
Here are a couple I like at Kembla Grange and Moe.
Kembla Grange, Race 1: #5 Mendooran
All bar one in this race are debutantes, but you can’t beat race experience, and that’s exactly what Mendooran has.
This Allan Denham-trained colt was only narrowly beaten in his last race, which happened to be at Kembla Grange over the same distance he will contest tonight. It took a great ride from jockey Tommy Marquand on Stolen Glance to pip Mendooran right on the post.
Mendooran returns from a layoff tonight, but he has trialed well and can perform well fresh. With claiming apprentice jockey Stacey Metcalf on board, he will carry a little less weight than what he’s used to.
If he starts close to those 15-2 morning-line odds, that’s terrific value.
Moe, Race 2: #8 Ryan’s Girl
This lightly raced 4-year-old struck trouble during her last start at Mornington and would have finished a lot closer. Prior to that, she chased home a smart one at Bairnsdale. The form from both of her previous races has proved strong, which bodes well.
Tonight, Ryan’s Girl will drop back to country-level racing, and she has performed well previously on a heavy-rated track, which is what she will face tonight.
Those 10-1 morning line odds look extremely generous.
Good luck!
