Australian racing picks for Rosehill Gardens
A big Friday night of Australian racing action awaits us, with four quality Thoroughbred meetings available for BetAmerica horseplayers.
Rosehill Gardens and Kembla Grange are the two New South Wales tracks, while the tight-turning Moonee Valley in Victoria and Eagle Farm in Queensland, are the other two tracks being broadcast live on the BetAmerica app and website.
The Rosehill card offers nine quality races, with the lid opener scheduled for 9:25 p.m. ET.
Here are a couple picks for Rosehill!
Race 1: #9 Oh Say
It’s important to note that, at the time of writing, the track has seen a lot of rain and is rated a "Heavy 9."
Oh Say is a 3-year-old filly by StarSpangledBanner, and she will make her race debut tonight. She has had a few trials, and I particularly liked her last one at Canterbury, where she coasted to the line under a strong hold from jockey Brenton Avdulla. She is certainly an imposing looking filly. That trial was also on a heavy track, and she looked to handle it with ease.
The tongue tie will go on for the first time, and I think Oh Say can make a winning debut for us at pretty attractive odds.
Race 6: #10 Across Dubai
Across Dubai is an interesting import from England, who made his Australian debut at Rosehill at the end of May. That was on a "Heavy 8" track, and he appeared to handle it quite well when he finished within three lengths of the winner. Across Dubai didn’t get a lot of room down the stretch and had to switch course, so he probably should have finished closer.
He will certainly be better in his his second Aussie run, and he is going to appreciate the additional distance.
Across Dubai has raced in much better races back in the United Kingdom, and trainer Chris Waller generally works imports out pretty quickly. Jockey Hugh Bowman sticks and the gelding is well drawn.
I expect a big run at hopefully double-figure odds!
Hope you find a few winners!
