Australian racing picks for Royal Randwick and Eagle Farm

Let’s get this weekend started with a few winners on what is an exciting Friday night of racing from Down Under.

BetAmerica horseplayers have three premier Australian Thoroughbred tracks available to wager on, including Royal Randwick, Eagle Farm, and Flemington. The Gold Coast plays the support act as the fourth track. You can watch all the Aussie action live via the BetAmerica app and desktop.

Here are a couple picks in the early races to hopefully get us off on the right note.

Randwick, Race 1: #5 Foretti

Foretti represents great value, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we can get double-figure odds.

His two runs back from a break have been average, but the addition of blinkers for the first time should sharpen him up. Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott are astute trainers!

Foretti was impressive when he won a recent Randwick barrier trial over the same heavy surface that will greet him tonight. He should lead and prove difficult to run down.

Eagle Farm, Race 1: #9 Garibaldi

This Tony Gollan-trained colt comes out of a much stronger G3 race, where he ran well despite only finishing mid-field.

Tonight’s assignment looks much easier, and he is drawn to do no work. We won’t get much in the way of odds, but any price is a good price on a winner, right?
