Australian racing picks for Warrnambool and Dalby
If you enjoy jumps racing, you’re going to love the Warrnambool card tonight! The nine-race card at "the bool" features five races over the jumps. Racing is likely to be on a heavy track, so some of these will be a real slog!
There are three other Australian Thoroughbred meetings available for BetAmerica horseplayers this Monday night, including Cessnock, Dalby and Bundaberg.
Here are a couple selections to hopefully start your week on a winning note.
Warranambool, Race 4: #1 Bakery Hill
From the leading barn of trainer Anthony Freedman, this 5-year-old gelding made his debut over the jumps at Warrnambool two runs back, at the same distance he'll contest tonight. While the PPs will show he was beaten 11 lengths in second place, considering it was his first effort over the jumps, it was an encouraging performance.
He can only improve tonight, and jockey Clayton Douglas sticks, which is a good sign. Assuming he can handle the track conditions, Bakery Hill should be fighting out the finish. Those 5-1 morning-line odds look about right.
Dalby, Race 3: #4 Diggity
This gelding looked like he had a big chance at Dalby in his last start, which was a half-furlong farther than what he will contest tonight. He settled much closer to the speed, but the leader was too strong.
Diggity should be able to race handy again tonight, and I also like that he will drop significantly in weight. He has won over the distance and seems to do his best racing on a good track.
Good luck!
