Belmont stakes plays for Sunday, November 1

A pair of $80,000 stakes affairs for the ladies will highlight the Sunday action at Belmont Park.

Pumpkin Pie S.

A compact field of six fillies and mares will go postward in the 7-furlong dash. The outside draw seems ideal for recent Skipat S. heroine #6 Never Enough Time and I will give her the slight edge. The Michael Trombetta trainee has been first or second in four straight races coming in, and the speedy daughter of Munnings will have clear sailing throughout under Luis Saez. She will shine in her debut over "Big Sandy."

The main threat to the top pick is #1 Bronx Beauty, who was runner-up in the Skipat most recently. Anthony Margotta pupil was game while in the place spot at Pimlico last time out and will have a bit more pace to rally into on Sunday. Manny Franco has the call.

Chelsea Flower S.

A large cast of 2-year-old fillies will contest the grassy affair at 1 1/16 miles. #10 Lovestruck rallied into a soft pace to graduate at first asking at Saratoga, and the Godolphin homebred could be a really nice prospect going forward. Trained by Bill Mott, the gray daughter of Tapit comes in fresh with four solid morning moves as of late, and she will be moving best of all in the lane beneath Junior Alvarado.

#2 Oyster Box could be another juvenile filly to watch following her smart debut tally on the course going six panels. Conditioned by Graham Motion, the well-bred youngster was energetic late in her first offering, and the added ground should only aid the chestnut with Johnny V riding.
