BetAmerica’s horse racing pick of the day: Arlington Park, Sept. 10

September 10th, 2020

Thursday's action at Arlington Park is loaded with an eight-race card. Here are our weekday picks and plays for Thoroughbred racing at Arlington on Thursday, Sept. 10.

Arlington Park Race 7: Allowance optional claiming (5 furlongs on turf, 6:18 p.m. ET)

#2 Never Have I Ever (4-1 on the morning line) has dominated three straight races since returning from a layoff in July, winning by a minimum of 2 3/4 lengths while posting three consecutive Brisnet Speed ratings in the 90-91 range — the fastest recent figures posted by any horse in Thursday’s field.

Never Have I Ever has been particularly strong since being claimed out of his comeback run by hot trainer Brittany Vanden Berg, a 36% winner this year. Never Have I Ever has shown serious speed, crushing a pair of turf sprints in gate-to-wire fashion. This son of Grade 1-winning turf sprinter No Nay Never looms as the one to catch in this 5-furlong dash.

Vanden Berg wins at a 45% rate with last-out winners, and jockey Christopher Emigh retains the mount for a third straight race, which sounds like a recipe for success.

Let’s bet Never Have I Ever to win and play him in the exacta with #5 Good Bye Greg (7-2) and #7 Air Force Jet (4-1).

$20 to win on #2 Never Have I Ever
$5 exacta: 2 with 5,7 ($10)
Total: $30

Good luck!
