Presque Isle Downs, Race 2: $20,000 maiden claiming (6 furlongs on Tapeta, 5:10 p.m. ET)

#2 Fast Lani (3-1 on the morning line) has run well against tougher company. She has finished fourth in a pair of maiden special weight sprints at Presque Isle Downs.

The 2-year-old daughter of capable sprinter Fast Anna flashed tactical speed on both occasions and earned competitive Brisnet Speed ratings of 68 and 71, both higher than the par rating (64) for Tuesday’s race.

Dropping in for a claiming tag should make Fast Lani very dangerous for trainer Adam Rice, who has gone 4-for-4 when he transitions horses from maiden special weight to maiden claiming company in recent years.

Presque Isle’s leading jockey, Pablo Morales (a 27% winner over this track), will take over the mount, so let’s make Fast Lani and her coupled stablemate, #2B Magic Lemons, the focus of our wagers.
