BetAmerica’s horse racing pick of the day: Santa Anita (Sept. 25)

Santa Anita's fall meet kicks off Friday, with a 10-race card, including the Eddie D. (G2) and Chillingworth S (G3).

Santa Anita, Race 6: Chillingworth (G3, 6 1/2 furlongs, 6 p.m. ET)

Though seemingly a bit delicate, #2 Qahira (2-1 on the morning line) has won three straight races for trainer Bob Baffert and is undefeated in four starts sprinting on fast tracks.

On Aug. 16, the 4-year-old daughter of Cairo Prince kicked off her 2020 campaign with an easy victory in a 6 1/2-furlong Del Mar allowance, where she all the way to beat next-out stakes winner Proud Emma by three lengths.

Qahira’s impressive performance yielded a 97 Brisnet Speed rating, one of the fastest figures in the Chillingworth field.

There isn’t a ton of speed in the race, so Qahira figures to enjoy a perfect trip, setting or stalking a modest pace. If she improves at all in her second run of the season, she’ll be tough to beat.

A win bet will be our first order of business, but we’ll also play Qahira over #7 Amuse (5-2) in the exacta.
