Delaware Park, Race 4: Maiden special weight (6 furlongs, 2:45 p.m. ET)

#4 Allende (8-5 on the morning line) fired off an excellent effort in her debut at Delaware Park on June 20. After she carved out fast fractions of :21.78 and :44.87 in a 6-furlong dash (good for Brisnet E1 and E2 Pace ratings of 103 and 105), Allende fought on gamely down the homestretch to finish second.

This effort produced a solid 81 Brisnet Speed rating, one of the highest numbers in Monday’s field. High-percentage trainer Michael Stidham strikes at a 21% rate with second-time starters, and he has won at a 21% rate when he teams up with jockey Angel Suarez, so Allende looms as the filly to beat in her second run under colors.
