Keeneland
Race 5
#5 Royal Mesa (6-1) was done early when unplaced on turf at Churchill in his latest in May but has a record of 3-2-0-0 on this main track. Son of Sky Mesa won here last fall coming off a layoff and trainer Sims wins with 13% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Colt can be in good position throughout with Bejarano in the saddle.
Race 8
Chad Brown’s two entrants here will no doubt be tough to beat, but #9 Next Shares (8-1) split that duo when closing strongly to finish second in the Shoemaker Mile (G1) in his latest in May. Son of Archarcharch sprang an upset when winning the Shadwell Turf Mile (G1) over the course and distance in 2018 for trainer Baltas, who has won with 20% of his runners since the beginning of the year. 7-year-old will be closing late with Velazquez retaining the mount.
Race 9
Trainer Rivelli wins with a high rate of 34% of his first-time starters and saddles #5 Dive Deep (5-1), a debuting son of 15% first-out sire Midshipman, who is a half-brother to six winners. 3-year-old’s works include a sharp 4-furlong move in :47 3/5 from the gate last month for Rivelli, who wins with 30% overall in maiden claiming events. Bay is likely ready to win at first asking with Irad Ortiz up.
Belterra
Race 8
Maiden fillies over 5 furlongs include #3 Front Circle (7-2), who debuts for 15% first-out trainer Hamm. Dark bay has a decent win-early pedigree and has been working forwardly for Hamm, who has won with 16% of his runners at this meet. Half-sister to one winner appears ready for a good first outing under Corrales, who has won with 30% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.
Woodbine
Race 7
#5 Solar (6-1) was claimed by Donald MacRae when rallying from just off the pace to win his latest at Gulfstream in March. MacRae wins with 15% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and has won with four of his last 12 starters first off the claim. Son of Flatter can be in good position throughout with Lermyte up.
Del Mar
Race 2
#2 Aqua Seaform Shame (3-1) has not been seen since breaking her maiden over the course and distance in November when defeating the talented pair of Venetian Harbor and Speech. Daughter of excellent turf sprint sire Kantharos has been working well for Richard Baltas, who wins with 18% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Bay can be on or near the lead throughout with Fuentes retaining the mount.
Race 9
Mild morning line favorite for the Oceanside is #7 Hit the Road (7-2), who rallied from off the pace to win his latest at this distance at Santa Anita in May. Trainer Blacker wins with 22% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and son of More Than Ready has won three of five lifetime starts on grass. Bay can be along late with Rispoli in the irons.
