#6 Backstreet Lady (8-1) debuts for trainer Klopp, who wins with 10% of his first-time starters. Works include a recent 5-furlong move in 1:00 2/5 from the gate and filly has a good win early pedigree being by Street Boss and out of a mare by Unbridled’s Song. Chestnut appears ready to win at first asking with De La Cruz up.
Race 5
Trainer Drury wins with 26% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days and saddles #3 Strike (9-2), who has not raced since finishing fourth in an even effort at Aqueduct over 6 furlongs in November. Son of Smart Strike has won one of six starts on turf and has been working well for Drury, who has won with 19% of his runners this year. Gelding can be forwardly placed from the start with Jimenez riding.

#3 Breezy Gust (6-1) has not been seen since fading to finish unplaced after dueling for the early lead in a stakes over 7 furlongs here in December. Trainer Demasi wins with 14% of her runners that have not raced for 90+ days, and son of Great Notion has won one of three career starts. Bay figures to be fastest early with Sanchez riding.

Maidens going 5 furlongs on turf include #5 Thelma and Annie (9-2), a debuting daughter of good turf sprint sire Kodiac, who is out of a mare by Green Desert who has produced one winner. Filly taking on males has been working well for trainer House, who wins with 35% of his first-time starters and with 11% of his runners on grass. 4-year-old can be ready for a good first outing with Eddie Martin taking the mount.
Lone Star Park
Race 9
#4 Lookin Sharp (8-1) faded to finish unplaced after vying for the early lead in her latest over 7 furlongs on the main track here last month in her first start after a short break. Filly finished unplaced in one previous start sprinting on grass but has a good pedigree for the surface and trainer Asmussen wins with 19% of his runners second off a layoff. 4-year-old can be in good early position under Elliot, who has won with 21% of his rides for the barn in the past 60 days.
