Holland's North America Racing Picks for June 25

Tim has a pair of spot plays for Churchill Downs today, as well as a selection for Belmont Park, Woodbine, and Canterbury.

Churchill Downs

Race 5

Maidens going 6-furlongs include #5 Jack Luvs Nova (6-1), who debuts for 21% first-out trainer Stall. Son of Munnings is a half-brother to one winner and works include a solid 4-furlong move in :48 2/5 five days ago for Stall, who wins with 24% of his runners overall in maiden claiming events. #9 Silky Blue (15-1) has not been seen since finishing a well-beaten second on a sloppy main track in her debut in early-October. Daughter of 13% grass sire Hard Spun is out of Beautiful But Blue, who finished third in the Test (G1), and trainer Duarte wins with 20% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Filly is a half-sister to one winner on turf and can be forwardly placed from the start with Franco up. Trainer Rice wins with a solid 27% of her second time starters and saddles #3 Magnolia’s Lady (6-1), who closed to finish fourth in her debut over 6-furlongs here early this month. Daughter of Freud is a half-sister to $400K earner Split Time and can be more competitive with a better start and Lezcano remains aboard.

Woodbine

Race 6

Sprinters on turf include #1 Reconfigure (3-1), who has a record of 6-2-3-1 on this course and comes off a fourth-place finish in an even effort over 5-furlongs on the main track this month. That was his first start since December, and trainer Tiller wins with 16% of his runners second off a layoff. Son of Lemon Drop Kid has won 5-of-13 career outings, and gelding can be in good position throughout with Contreras retaining the mount.

Canterbury Park

Race 4

Trainer Robertson wins with 18% of his runners second time off a layoff and saddles #3 Rental Pool (9-2), who was prominent from the start when second on the main track two weeks ago in her first outing since September. Daughter of Dialed In won her one previous start on turf and Robertson wins with 21% making this surface change. Chestnut can be forwardly placed from the start with Canchari riding.
