Holland's North American Free Picks for Sept. 8

September 8th, 2020

Looking at how Tim Holland did last week, especially on Derby day, following his picks would present the funds to play more today at Parx, Indiana Grand and Presque Isle Downs!

Tim was helped by winners at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Derby Day; Bell’s the One ($10.40), Digital Age ($19.20) and Authentic ($18.80) - who all combined to pay $272.85 (to $.50) in the late Pick Three.

Tim sits overall at 196 winners from 1066 races = 18% for a slight loss (-1.14%), but profit of 18.78% after 488 selections going off at odds of 5-1 or over.

Parx

Race 3

#5 Miss Moon Pie (5-1) faded to finish last of six after showing some early run in her debut over 6 furlongs at Monmouth Park last month. Daughter of Malibu Moon is a half-sister to three winners and trainer Servis wins with 17% of his second-time starters and with 16% going a route for the first time. $110K yearling purchase can show improvement under Pennington, who has won with 24% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.

Race 9

Sprinters on turf include #5 Get Set (8-1), who was placed third after rallying from off the pace to pass the post first on the main track at Penn National in his latest last month. Gelding failed to hit the board in one previous start on grass but has a good pedigree for turf and trainer Klesaris wins with 20% of his runners making this surface change. Bay should find a strong pace to close into under Haddock, who has won with one of his last three rides for the barn.

Indiana Grand

Race 8

Mike Tomlinson wins with 9% of his second-time starters, while generating a flat-bet profit, and saddles #4 Twitterpated (30-1), who was never a threat after a slow start when unplaced in her debut in a tough maiden at Keeneland in July. Daughter of 15% grass sire Stormy Atlantic is a full sister to Stormy Lucy, who won the Matriarch (G1), and has worked forwardly since her first outing for Tomlinson, who has won with 15% of his runners this year. Improvement can be expected at long odds with Prescott taking the mount.

Presque Isle Downs

Race 2

Maidens on the all-weather Tapeta surface include #8 She’sanearthmover (9-2), who debuts for 15% first-out trainer Trombetta. Daughter of First Samurai is out of a mare by War Front and has been working well for Trombetta, who has won with two of his nine runners at this meet. Chestnut is likely ready for a good first outing under Spieth, who was aboard for one of the barn’s recent winners here.
