Handicapper Tim Holland provides a few picks Tuesday from Finger Lakes, Mahoning Valley and Mountaineer Park!
Finger Lakes
Race 3
#1 Quality Stones (4-1) weakened late when second after leading from the start over the track and distance last month in her first start for trainer Conway. Daughter of Quality Road has won two of five career starts and Conway wins with 21% of his runners second time for his barn. Filly figures to be in front again early breaking from the rail and may be tough to reel in with Perez remaining aboard.
Race 6
Trainer Babcock has won with 16% of his runners at this meet and saddles #10 Woodstock Girl (10-1), who faded to finish a well-beaten fourth after being rushed to dispute the early pace in her debut over 6 furlongs in her debut two weeks ago. Babcock wins with 20% of his runners in maiden special weight events and daughter of More Than Ready is a half-sister to one winner. Chestnut can be in the mix from the start with De Diego retaining the mount.
Mahoning Valley
Race 5
Maidens going 5 1/2 furlongs include #12 Letsgoandgetthedo (10-1), who faded to finish fourth after chasing the early leader as the favorite in her debut at Thistledown earlier this month. Trainer Reed wins with 21% of his runners that were beaten as the favorite last time out and with 11% of his second-time starters. Daughter of Bayern can be in good position throughout under Leon, who has won with 13% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.
Mountaineer
Race 7
#7 Victoryatvicksburg (9-2) showed little after a slow start when unplaced at Keeneland in his latest earlier this month but has won both of his two previous starts on this oval. Son of Union Rags is trained by Mark Hubley, who has won with three of his seven starters at this meet and with 15% of his runners overall this year. Chestnut should find a decent pace to close into with Gonzalez in the irons.
