Tim Holland has a couple of selections for Belterra Park on Tuesday, as well as picks for Parx and Presque Isle Downs.
Parx
Race 6
#5 Collegeville Girl (2-1) has won twice from three previous starts on this oval and exits a fourth-place finish at Saratoga in mid-August in which she made mild progress over 7-furlongs. Trainer Vega has won with 16% of his runners at this meet and daughter of Central Banker has a record of 5-2-1-0 at this distance. Bay should find a decent pace to stalk under Castillo, who has won with 19% of his rides for the barn in the past 60 days.
Belterra
Race 3
Trainer Cline wins with 14% of his runners in maiden claiming events and saddles #11 Scotch (8-1), who flattened out to finish fourth after chasing the early leaders in his debut early this month. Son of Flat Out is a half-brother to seven winners and Cline wins with 10% of his second-time starters, generating a profitable ROI. Gelding may show enough improvement to win at second asking with Miranda retaining the mount.
Race 8
Maidens on the main track include #2 Sheza Pop Star (5-2), who finished well after a slow start when second over the track and distance as the favorite in her debut last month. Trainer Greenhill wins with 25% of his second-time starters and with 19% that were beaten as the favorite last time out. Daughter of Kettle Corn is a half-sister to a winner and can be along from off the pace with Ramos remaining aboard.
Presque Isle
Race 7
Jonathan Sheppard has won with 29% of his runners at this meet and saddles #6 China Silk (5-2), who has not been seen since finishing fourth in an even effort over 5-furlongs on grass at Penn National in July. Daughter of More Than Ready won her one previous start on this all-weather surface and Sheppard wins with 14% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Dark bay can be along from just off the pace under Rodriguez, who has won with 22% of his rides for this stable in the past two months.
