Holland's North American Racing Picks for June 29

Editor's Note: Handicapper Tim Holland hits a good week last week, with 10 wins from 35 selections included winners in Philadelphia Belle ($49.40) at Parx and Silky Blues ($39.80) at Belmont Park. Tim breaks even overall after 715 races and 142 winners (20%) and selections at 5-1 or more have produced a 22% profit.
Delaware Park
Race 2
#6 Ruby’s Rush (15-1) has not been seen since fading to finish unplaced in her debut on the main track here last September. Daughter of 16% grass sire Majesticperfection is a half-sister to one winner on turf and gets Lasix added by trainer Gorham, who won with two of his first five runners at this meet. Filly can show more under Conner, who was aboard for one of the barn’s recent winners.
Indiana Grand
Race 1
Trainer Kobiskie wins with 16% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days and saddles #7 Queen Bess (5-2), who has not raced since closing to finish third in her debut on turf at Colonial Downs last August. Kobiskie has won with 17% of his runners at this meet and filly’s recent works include a fast 4-furlong move in :48 at the Thoroughbred Training Center. Daughter of Tiznow can be along from off the pace under Conning, who won with five of her last nine rides for this stable.
Canterbury
Race 3
#6 Blue Bomber (9-2) won one of two previous starts on this oval and was last seen when weakening to finish fourth at Will Rogers in early April. 9-year-old has a record of 6-4-1-0 at this distance and trainer Diodoro has won with four of 12 starters at this meet and wins with 23% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days.
Race 6
Maidens include #8 Frank the Mayor (12-1), a debuting son of Midnight Lute, who is a half-brother to two winners. Dark bay posted a fast 4-furlong work in :48 1/5 from the gate recently for trainer Berndt, who wins with 13% of his first-time starters and with 21% of his runners overall in maiden special weight events. Gelding appears ready for a good first outing under Denny Velazquez, who has won with four of his last 16 rides for the barn.
Louisiana Downs
Race 7
#8 Come on Archie (6-1) debuts for trainer Hodges, who wins with 19% of his newcomers. Son of Archarcharch is a half-brother to one winner and has been working steadily for Hodges, who has won with three of 12 runners at this meet. Gray can win at first asking with Mora in the saddle.
