Hoosier Park Harness Pick of the Week for October 2

The 2nd Race at Hoosier Park on Wednesday is a non-winners of four/optional claiming event that attracted a compact field of six. The one-mile pacing event for fillies and mares lacks a true standout in the cast, but it looks to be an interesting betting race to cap the early Daily Double.

QUEENS N TENS (#5) (3-1) is winless from 14 performances in 2019 but has been facing the toughest competition in the field. The Jace Sundeen trainee lands in a winnable spot and shows some decent form with a trio of third-place finishes in her last four tries. The four-year-old Indiana-bred will have regular driver Michael Oosting in the bike and will be forwardly placed in this affair.
VORTEX IVY (#2) (5-1) has been off form in two straight following a win on the course three back, but her best will make her a viable option in the field. The Jereme's Jet sophomore has been showing big speed while parked in tough post slot as of late and should thrive being close to the rail today. Trained by Matt Rhenheimer, the bay lass retains the services of Trace Tetrick.
MISS QUALITY (#3) (2-1) exits a win on the oval and has been productive in 2019 while winning or placing in eight of her last 10 races leading up to Wednesday. The Walter Haynes Jr. pupil has the ability to run big on occasion, evidenced by her pacing a 1:53 mile here in early August with today's driver Joey Putnam in the sulky. The Quality Western filly could sit in a dream spot behind a contested early pace on Wednesday.
HELEN'S GIRL (#4) (3-1) made a big late run to be a closing third behind the aforementioned filly last time out. The daughter of Straight Shooting from the barn of William Crone possesses the best turn of foot in the cast and will capitalize if the front end is busy in the affair. Sam Widger will once again be in the controls of the bay Florida-bred.
