Hoosier Park Harness Race of the Week for August 28

The 7th Race on Wednesday at Hoosier Park is Leg 6 of the Indiana Sires Stakes. The one-mile trot for sophomore fillies is the feature on a 12-race card and carries a substantial $91,000 purse. Ron Burke’s MEASUREDPERFECTION (#2) (9-5) went off as the slight 9-10 favorite in leg 5 of the series two weeks back and led at every call en route to a 3 ½-length romp. The Garden State-bred daughter of Swan for All established moderate fractions in that affair and powered home while clocking a swift :27 ⅖ final quarter-mile. Bay filly still has room for improvement in making just her fifth start of 2019, and the race will go through her and driver Trace Tetrick. GRAND SWAN (#8) (9-5) was the narrow second-choice behind the aforementioned in Leg 5 and was runner-up with a less than ideal voyage. Also by Swan for All, the Indiana-bred draws wide once again, but she has the ability and early speed to overcome the draw. The three-year-old lass is a fine five-for-six in 2019, which includes impressive wins in both Leg 3 and 4 of the series earlier in the meeting. The Lewayne Miller trainee has the best chance for the upset and will be guided home by her trainer. ALWAYS BE WITH YOU (#4) (15-1) is the longshot with the most appeal behind the formidable top pair. Trained by Robert Reeser, the Guccio filly made a big late run to nearly catch a clear one over the course most recently, putting in a swift :27 ⅘ final two panels. The dead-fit lass brings strong form to the affair with a win and a pair of seconds in her last three outings, and the bay will benefit most if the top two knock heads in the early stages of the race. Michael Oosting will be in the sulky. KOTA’S SWAN (#6) (7-2) will run on Lasix for the first time on Wednesday. The talented sophomore was a fine winner of a division of the Indiana Sires Series on August 14, although her final time was much slower than her counterparts went two races later on the card. Bay filly has won four of her last five assignments for 18% conditioner Jeff Cullipher, and she will be forwardly placed once again with Sam Widger in the bike.
