Hoosier Park Harness Race of the Week for June 12

June 11th, 2019

The 8th Race at Hoosier Park on Wednesday is a non-winners of two/optional claiming event. Ten will travel the one mile on the Hoosier Park course in a very competitive $11,000 trotting affair. The pair of morning-line favorites are drawn widest of all, which should open the race up even more. Don’t forget to get your GAIT INSURANCE before the Race of the Week! Your $5 WIN BET will be refunded if your horse breaks stride and loses the race! #4 MICKEY J (6-1) rates a big chance with even slight improvement in his second race since January. The Walter Haynes Jr. trainee made a huge middle move last time to lead into the stretch, but the gelding tired late while coming home a creditable fourth. Son of Jaihouse Jessie had surely needed the recent outing off the layoff and the four-year-old draws well inside of the pair of favorites. #7 FLOATURHOPE (15-1) comes into the race with some solid form and excellent value. Three-year-old daughter of Mr. Cantab finished runner-up in two races in succession prior to her latest, when she was parked around the entire backside while ultimately finishing sixth. Indiana-bred could make a lot of noise with a more sensible trip today. Andy Shelter will be in the bike. #9 PHINE BY ME (7-2) was an emphatic four-length winner over a level lighter in advance of this outing. Three-year-old filly was off at 1-5 odds most recently and delivered for Lewayne Miller. The bay Indiana-bred will need improvement to overcome the demanding post and class rise, however. #10 BLOWING UP UR PHONE (3-1) breaks from the outer position but has the early speed to overcome it. Brown daughter of Bluto looks to be showing some improvement this season and she enters off of a fourth-place run in a swiftly run test. The consistent filly is a nice fit at this level and gets Brandon Bates in the sulky once again. If Blowing Up Ur Phone clears the cast early on, she will be tough to run down inside the final eighth. Hoosier Park Harness Racing (c) Jamie Linscott/Hoosier Park
