Hoosier Park Harness Race of the Week for June 5, 2019

June 3rd, 2019

The 7th Race at Hoosier Park on Wednesday is a one-mile pacing event that attracted a field of nine. The $5,000 claiming race carries a $4,750 purse and is led by morning-line choice CANTESCAPEMYDESIRE (#1) (7-5). Don’t forget to get your GAIT INSURANCE before the Race of the Week! Your $5 WIN BET will be refunded if your horse breaks stride and loses the race! The Tyler George trainee was claimed out of an $8,000 contest three races prior and has been sharp for his new connections since. The seven-year-old gelding was a dominant winner two back, before being caught in the final strides when leading late on this course in his most recent endeavor. With a class drop and cozy rail post position today, the bay will be formidable with a top showing. Trace Tetrick will be in the sulky once again. ENERGY SHAKES (#8) (20-1) could pose a threat to the favorite at big odds. The 23-time winner doesn’t display great recent form but he does have excuses. He broke two races back, before catching a sloppy surface against a bit tougher in his latest assignment. The Jamie Macomber trainee figures to improve on the drop and is the value of this field. ALWAYS GLORIOUS (#2) (12-1) exits the same heat as the aforementioned and didn’t run his best in the slop, either. The bay four-year-old had hit the board in four consecutive outings prior to his latest, and the Ohio-bred looms as a nice exotics piece at a good price. Regular driver Lewayne Miller will be in the controls. The Tom Tetrick-conditioned SAGE MASTER (#3) (6-1) has won or placed in four of his last five races, with a going-away tally at this level most recently. The gelding has been in consistent form in 2019 and is proven to be competitive with this kind of competition on numerous occasions. John De Long will be in the bike.
