Hoosier Park Harness Race of the Week for May 15, 2019

May 14th, 2019

The Hoosier Park Harness Race of the Week comes in Wednesday’s 12th race. A field of 10 trotters will vie in the non-winners of two contest which kicks off the closing Pick 3. Don’t forget to get your GAIT INSURANCE before the Race of the Week! Your $5 WIN BET will be refunded is your horse breaks stride and loses the race! #1 PETRA (7-1) has had excuses in her 2019 outings and could be ready to put it all together at a square number in this field. Uncle Peter filly was a sharp second in a seasonal bow prior to enduring a horrific voyage second time back. After breaking early in her third start of the year, the miss showed a nice late burst to garner shows honors from a tough outer draw last time out. Melanie Wrenn pupil gets the rail for this endeavor and will be saving ground throughout. #4 LETSGOFORITALL (5-2) is the morning-line choice and deservedly so. The black gelding is the most consistent entrant in the field and has won or placed in five of his six assignments in 2019. Illinois-bred has the gate presence to be close in a field lacking much pace, which gives him an edge on a few of his main rivals. The sophomore is trained and ridden by John de Long, but his lifetime mark of one win and nine placings makes him difficult to back on top with any confidence. #9 TRULY INSPIRED (6-1) has solid 2019 form entering this race with a second and a win in her last pair. The four-year-old daughter of Yankee Glide has displayed a solid late kick this campaign and she has room for further improvement while racing herself back into shape. The Dan Shelter trainee gets a tough post near the outside and will need her best to get it done today. #6 ALL FOR ROCKY (30-1) is the ultimate wildcard in the field. The sophomore doesn’t stay flat consistently but when he does he’s a viable contender. Walter Haynes Jr.’s gelding broke at the break in his seasonal debut and will likely be a bit short in his first competitive event since the fall, but All for Rocky remains a tempting price considering his nice string of races over the course in 2018. He will be involved early if right today. PHOTO: Hoosier Park Harness Racing (c) Jamie Linscott/Hoosier Park
