How to bet the 2019 Inside Information Stakes

March 15th, 2019

Eight fillies and mares will travel seven furlongs on the Gulfstream Park dirt in Saturday’s highly competitive $200,000 Inside Information Stakes (G2). The affair lacks a true standout, and it is one of the better betting races of the weekend with each horse in the field being a viable win candidate. Mexican import JALA JALA (#1) (6-1) is no fluke and comes in with a huge second in the Royal Delta Stakes (G3) on this surface. The Point Determined mare draws inside and looms large with any kind of improvement here. AMERICA’S TALE (#2) (10-1) has won stakes races in her past pair of outings on the dirt. The speedy bay has ability and she comes in with a pair of sharp morning drills at Fair Grounds. The Bernie Flint-trained daughter of Gio Ponti will be the likely pacesetter under Brian Hernandez Jr. PACIFIC GALE (#3) (8-1) made a big run to midstretch before settling for second in the Hurricane Bertie Stakes (G3) on this surface last out. The John Kimmel-trained Flat Out filly makes a lot of sense with a forward move in her second 2019 appearance. Top pick CAIRENN (#4) (8-1) closed out 2018 with a victory in the Shine Again Stakes at Laurel Park. The Graham Motion charge is training well for her comeback for one of the best conditioners in getting them ready off the bench. The five-year-old mare receives a nice upgrade to Javier Castellano in the dash. PINK SANDS (#5) (4-1) has impressed at this meeting with a pair of fine allowance tallies in advance of her stakes debut. The expensive daughter of Tapit could be the “now” horse in the affair. Tyler Gaffalione inherits the mount on the razor-sharp lass from the barn of Shug McGaughey. Morning-line choice TEQUILITA (#6) (5-2) bagged the Rampart Stakes (G3) two prior before finishing a creditable third in the Royal Delta in her most recent endeavor. The five-year-old daughter of Union Rags has never missed the board at Gulfstream Park and also owns a trio of wins at the seven-furlong distance. Luis Saez has the assignment. RAZORBACK LADY (#7) (15-1) led throughout in a recent allowance win on the surface and will be part of the pace in this one. The Patrick Biancone-trained Overdriven filly will need a big step forward, however, to challenge for the top prize in a fine field. Talented dual Grade 3 winner TERESA Z (#8) (3-1) draws widest for her seasonal debut. The Smart Strike mare capped a nice 2018 with a dominant victory in the Turnback the Alarm Handicap (G3). The chestnut might need a bit more distance to be at her peak, though she wouldn’t be a surprise for good layoff conditioner Anthony Margotta Jr. ANALYSIS America’s Tale is the inside speed of the field and will be sent early by Brian Hernandez Jr. She will have company from the outset, however, as Tequilita and Razorback Lady also boasts fine gate presence. The early tempo is expected to be an honest one. I am tabbing the winner to come from off the pace in the Inside Information.
