Audubon Analysis
The Audubon lacks pace, and #8 Summer to Remember could inherit the lead as he is exiting some swiftly run races at Gulfstream Park.
Audubon Contenders
#1 BAMA BREEZE (8-1) -- Gelded son of Honor Code draws inside for his second off the shelf for Rusty Arnold. Dark bay sophomore didn’t fire in his first for new connections last time out, but his debut tally on the course was fantastic and he gets another chance to prove himself on Saturday. Corey Lanerie will be up.
#2 SPANISH KINGDOM (10-1) -- Animal Kingdom gelding comes in off the strength of a three-length allowance win on the Churchill sod. Bay Kentucky-bred has been victorious in his last pair of grassy endeavors and can’t be ignored for Joe Sharp.
#3 NATURAL POWER (8-1) -- Wildcard in the field from the Casse barn has yet to catch firm turf from a trio of outings since coming to the states. Capable Slade Power colt was a smart runner-up in his lone prior try beneath the Twin Spires, and the late runner will be doing his best work inside the final furlong beneath Beschizza.
#4 PIXELATE (7-2) -- Godolphin homebred is ever-consistent, finishing in the top three in each of his eight career performances to date. City Zip colt was a closing second in the War Chant S. here last time off the shelf, and improvement will give the dark bay a logical chance late for Stidham.
#5 FENWICK STATION (15-1) -- Kenneally pupil has gone off form from three 2020 engagements. Stakes-placed son of Magician didn’t respond to the addition of blinkers most recently, and he will need something resembling his juvenile form to have a chance on Saturday.
#6 FIELD PASS (2-1) -- Morning-line choice from the Maker shedrow is a dual stakes victor this season and comes in off of a fast-closing third in the local War Chant. Gray son of Lemon Drop Kid possesses a versatile running style, and the colt might get first run on the deep closers at the top of the stretch.
#7 KINENOS (8-1) -- Son of Empire Maker enters the Audobon with two turf wins in succession for Brad Cox. Lightly raced sophomore impressed when closing from well back behind a dawdling pace in his most recent outing, and he could be a late presence while coming in fresh on Saturday.
#8 SUMMER TO REMEMBER (7-2) -- Sure top selection looms a menacing figure for Pletcher from the outside post. Summer Front colt has never run a bad race, and he appears to have a big tactical edge on his main rivals on Saturday, as well. Kentucky-bred will pick up his first stakes win under the guidance of Florent Geroux.
