#3 CLEVERLY BEVERLY (6-5) is the class of the field having missed by a nose in stakes company here in January, but has raced only twice since and at age eight could be a tad rusty returning from a three-month spell. #1 RUBY'S GONE AGAIN (2-1) has won five straight but has never raced on the turf. However, she's by minor turf stakes winner Lucky Pulpit (sire of California Chrome, who won the Hollywood Derby (G1) on grass) and shares a second dam with American Oaks (G1) winner Daddys Lil Darling and Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner Mongolian Saturday.

Race 5

Our single of the sequence is #1 DIZZY DIVA (9-5), whose Southern California form is solid enough. Trainer Robertino Diodoro hitting at a 50% clip to start this long meet.

Race 6

#4 LEVITATION (4-1) tends to cut it close but has been on the winning side of the photo in three of his last five. Won his only previous start on the lawn. #5 SUCCESS RATE (10-1) has had some excuses for his last couple. Suited best to stalk-and-pounce tactics, and handled the grass rather well early in his career. #7 LIBERTARIAN (5-2) is less exposed than the rest and has shown ability on the turf. #6 TRILL POINT (6-1) looks like the one they'll have to run down.

Race 7 (Luke Kruytbosch)

#4 LEADEM IN KEN (2-1) exits a second-place effort in the $159,000 David M. Vance at Remington, and last March ran second in the Phoenix Gold Cup here. #1 BOURBON COWBOY (5-2) has become much more consistent since the addition of blinkers four back. #5 IZZY THE WARRIOR (3-1) hitting his best stride now for Diodoro exiting a victory against several of these in a similar stakes.

Race 8

#5 HERETOPLAY (8-1), #6 ONE SIMPLE RULE (6-1), and #7 SEASIDE FANTASY (7-2) all appear to be taking significant drops in class. #9 WHENBETTERTHANNOW (9-2) didn't have the cleanest of runs last out.
