January 21st, 2017

It won't be long now until the greyhound world crowns a champion as the 2017 DAYTONA 550

Oaks-MaddyNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP race runs Saturday evening at Daytona Beach. An extremely talented field led by Southland's own OAKS MADDY goes to post in the 10th race as 8 very competitive greyhounds battle paw to paw for the elusive title. Excitement is reaching a fever pitch as owners, kennels, trainers and all associated with these eight entries get ready to watch what is sure to be a super exciting stakes contest. This race has a little bit of everything with the field having shown tons of early speed, huge rushes to the turn and some outstanding late kicks. Best of luck to all the greyhounds and their connections and best wishes for a safe race for all greyhounds.

OAKS MADDY - 1 box - 60 starts - 22- 5-7-6 - The one to beat in my opinion and she's coming off a win at the Daytona track where she just ran a blazing time of 29.99 which just missed setting a new track record. Current record time is 29.97.
