Changes on the Leaderboard

Three fillies scored dominant victories on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks last weekend. Taraz crushed the Martha Washington S., Tonalist's Shape romped home in the Forward Gal (G3), and Harvey's Lil Goil overcame a tough trip to claim the Busanda S. All three earned 10 qualification points for their triumphs and currently sit 7th, 8th, and 10th on the leaderboard.

Looking Ahead

Two more Road to the Kentucky Oaks prep races are scheduled to be run this Saturday. The 1-mile and 40-yard Suncoast S. at Tampa Bay Downs and the 1-mile Las Virgenes (G2) at Santa Anita will both offer qualification points to the top four finishers on a 10-4-2-1 basis.

The Suncoast and the Las Virgenes will bring the 15-race Kentucky Oaks Prep Season to a close. The stakes will rise two weeks from now with the Feb. 15 Rachel Alexandra (G2) at Fair Grounds, the first leg of the 15-race Kentucky Oaks Championship Series. The Rachel Alexandra will offer qualification points on a 50-20-10-5 basis, virtually guaranteeing the winner a spot in the Kentucky Oaks starting gate.
