Low-Profile Fillies At Tioga Dig In For One More Decent Purse Pursuit Before August

All fields feature Hambletonian-eligible horses. Whether or not the quartet of #Hambo19-eligible fillies in New York Sires Stakes (NYSS) action on July 14 will be involved on the first Saturday in August is unlikely, but a great performance would not hurt what chances they have left, as well as it would boost their bankrolls. The two NYSS splits are worth $57,600 each. In the first split, Sweet Chapter (e) and Winndevie (e) have to put away four others. We have backed Sweet Chapter since May, looking to do better than she has done, but Winndevie (e) has been more productive and may have a slight edge here. The public won’t be focusing on those two, however, so a good price may be in store for either or both. Quincy Blue Chip is the morning-line choice and Amal Hall will attract support. Still, Trond Smedshammer’s Winndevie could be a great bet. The second NYSS division does not present much hope for the two fillies eligible to one of the trotting classics. Conway Kellyanne (e) was a fan favorite early on but she has not been able to toss a win and has earned little in seven starts. Gobi Princess (e) has scored once and made a decent amount of money but looks a lot weaker than the others except for Thanks For Leaving, a late starter with only two races that never saw her hit the board. The others include ML favorite Blue Ribbon Gal, Stella Jane and With Out A Doubt. The latter has two wins in six starts and could go off a decent price. She paid well in both of her wins.
