Palm Beach Final Top 10 Rankings and Races 2016-2017 Season

July 3rd, 2017

What a memorable season we just experienced at Palm Beach!  From Triple Crown runs, to unbelievable comebacks & national television coverage, this season really did have it all.  The memories that were made at America's favorite greyhound destination will be talked about for years to come that is for certain.

Here are the final Top 10 rankings for this season and the best races we saw at "The Beach!"

#1 Fraulein Morgan  ~ Middle Distance  ~ Janie Carroll Kennel

~33 wins for the season, 37.37 secs best ever time

Simply the most dominant racer Palm Beach saw this year.  Won the Track Championship by an amazing nine victories and stamped her legacy with a nail biting 50K St Pats title back in March.  Retired on top in June after posting a 96% board hit rate on the season.  One of the greatest middle distance racers to ever call South FLA home.

#2 Janice Dean  ~ Middle Distance  ~ Brindle Kennel

~ 19 wins for the season, 37.31 secs best ever time

What a ride the "Weather Machine" took her fans on this year.  Janice may have had the most memorable campaign in recent history, after scoring victories in the 50K He's My Man Championship and following it up with a 50K Derby title.  Dean also put greyhound racing on national television in a positive story for the first time in decades with her spot on Fox & Friends back in February. Incredibly versatile athlete.

#3 Whirlin Toodlelu  ~ Sprinter  ~ Douglas Kennel

~ 24 wins for the season, 29.22 secs best ever time

The social media darling.  "Toodles" put together a sensational first full season, finishing second in the Labor Day Puppy Stakes & St Pats Invitational.  With that dynamite closing speed, this is one hound you don't want on your six coming for home.  My early favorite for next years Track Championship.

#4 Big Red Dog  ~ Sprinter  ~ Rader Racing

~24 wins for the season, 29.46 secs best ever time

"Clifford" is one of the best box breakers in the entire country.  Made three stakes finals (Labor Day, He's My Man, St Pats) and won the Fathers Day All Star Feature.  Cliff is the leader of 11 time kennel champion Rader Racing, who will try and get back to their winning form after a two year title absence next season.

#5 Hi Noon Vortex  ~ Super Sprinter  ~ Lester Raines Kennel

~23 wins for the season, 16.35 secs best ever time

Vortex tore up the Kb's Like A Fox Super Sprint Course the last two months of the season, winning seven of his ten starts.  A distance that needed a superstar, Vortex was a best of the bunch.  Posted the seasons fastest split and can fire from any starting position.

#6 Super C Martha  ~ Sprinter  ~ Lester Raines Kennel

~15 wins for the season, 29.30 secs best ever time

After switching over from Southland, Martha absolutely loved her new home in Paradise.  Martha qualified for the prestigious St Pats Invitational after only nine starts here. Superb rusher and closer for trainer Kurt Trezciak.

#7 Superior Tyson  ~ Sprinter  ~ B & B Racing

~19 wins for the season, 29.31 secs best ever time

When the "Knockout King" was on, there wasn't any sprinter here who could handle him.  Tyson picked up another 19 W's this season, giving him 47 in his Palm Beach career.

#8 Barts Big Bang  ~ Sprinter  ~ Douglas Kennel

~20 wins for the season, 29.19 secs best ever time

Math, science, history....there was no mystery with how well the Big Bang did in his rookie campaign here.  20 W's and one of the fastest sprint splits of any greyhound all year long. If he ever took the lead early, you could count on this 67 pound goliath winning by double digit lengths.

#9 Gv MooseIsLoose  ~ Sprinter  ~ Douglas Kennel

~19 wins on the season, 29.42 secs best ever time

"The Moooooooooose" put together stretches this season where he was simply unstoppable.  Can fire with the best of them when healthy for the top team this year at Douglas.

#10 Ethel Is Here  ~ Middle Distance  ~ Janie Carroll Kennel

~14 wins on the season, 37.13 secs best ever time (Track Record)

A true legend.  After 64 career victories, the "Blue Bomber" hung up her jersey in January.  The 2016 Derby Champion and Co-Track Champion from last year was a marvel to watch, sizzling record setting times and dusting off any competition that came her way. Ethel was just phenomenal and should be considered to have her name put on the Walk of Fame in front of the track.

O Ya Sunflower, JN's I B Slammin, Hot Prospect Gal, PJ Smoke Em Out, Kb's Katana, Dutch Amy Jo, Char Vallon, BartsRunninLoose, Ice Buster, Tc's D Wade, AllAboutTheFame, Pepper Cream, Blu Too Tarmac (pictured), JustDoInMyThing, Atascocita Lloyd, Hi Noon Grace, Tc's Carlos Gomez, Pat C Faro
