Palm Beach Friday Matinee Preview 7/29/2016

Welcome to Fabulous Friday action at Palm Beach!  A real treat today with this card because of the immense talent that will be on display all afternoon long.  Sit back and let the greyhounds entertain.

Here are the top races I'll be following to get the last weekend of racing in July started:

*Atascocita Unify*

Race 10 Grade A 545 Yards

A real wide open contest here that should have some solid prices for every greyhound.

#7 Atascocita Unify from Suncoast Racing was a 20 time winner last season but has yet to find the winners circle yet this year.  The 2015 Futurity runner up has a beautiful rush but has been unlucky with the top talent he has had to face in his last 6 races.  Should be able to get out in front here.

Watch out for #5 JS Tim Tation from owner Shannon Henry who pulled off a miracle comeback last time out and will be charging hard down the backstretch.

Unify gets off the goose egg off of his win total.

Race 12 Grade A 545 Yards

Speaking of goose eggs, how has National Championship Finalist #2 Pat C Short Cut not hit the winning ticket yet this season?  His times have been really good but has yet to find that nice rush out of the box to combo with that dynamite closing ability he always possesses.

"Shorty" really prefers a midtrack position, but against this field may not need it.  Not a ton of early speed should have Short Cut close enough to run down whoever has the lead.

*Sentinel*

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards

This superstar is worth the price of admission today without question.

#2 Sentinel from Ryan Racing has just been electric since the new season started.  The Firecracker 545 Champ has won 4 of 5 and has put a hurtin on the South FLA stopwatch with his blazing winning times.  A Daytona 550 contender at this point, he can possibly wrap up our #1 ranking for July if he can find the winning touch again today.

Sentinel is one of my favorite greyhounds to watch on the backstretch because he takes it to another level once he puts on the full throttle.Very exciting athlete.

Look out for #3 OYa Maybelline from the red hot Douglas Kennel who will be looking for her third straight victory if she can pull off the stunner here.

I'm banking on Sentinel continuing his winning ways.

Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards

Moooooooooooooooose!

That's the chants you will hear by the crowd to end this Matinee, as scorching rookie sensation #1 GV MooseIsLoose gets the start.  The surprise of the season so far, Moose leads the early wins chase and will be trying to grand slam his 7th straight victory today.

How has he done it?  By rocketing out of the box like no other greyhound here.  His breaks have been unbelievable and getting the 1 hole in the finale should continue to help.

Every other dog in this race will have a huge price on them, as the public will jump all over the Moose to win.  Possible long shots could come from veteran #7 Superior Philly or #5 Craigie Runaway.

The Moose keeps getting loose and pulls off another victory.
