SKY PREACHER was a well thought of two-year-old in his first start, but things did not go as planned and it was his stablemate that took top honors that day. He came right back to run against another well meant two-year-old and was never a factor, finishing fourth. The switch to two turns and they turf; however, may be what he wanted all along. RACING FOR CHASEN certainly doesn't have the normal breeding of a Barry Abrams trained runner, but the dam of the Swiss Yodeler filly, Wild Baby Girl, was trained by Abrams for three of her four career starts. The only start she was not trained by Abrams, she was trained by David Hofmans, who sent her out to a debut win in 2007. If there is one two-year-old in the group to bet on based on breeding for distance, it's NAKAMOTO. Sire Temple City won the Cougar II Handicap on the synthetic surface at Del Mar, a race that was run at 12 furlongs. Temple City also finished second in the twelve furlong, Grade 1 Hollywood Turf Cup. NAKAMOTO cost $77,000 at auction back in April, over 15 times the stud fee. DELANEY'S JOY and KENJI'S THUNDER are two others to consider for any trifecta or superfecta wager. DELANEY'S JOY is a filly facing the boys in her debut while KENJI'S THUNDER was a non-threatening sixth in his debut a week ago.
