Playing the mandatory Rainbow 6 payout at Santa Anita Park on Sunday

Those looking to re-invest their Breeders' Cup winnings or get back any losses won't have long to wait as there will be a mandatory Rainbow 6 payout at Santa Anita on Sunday, closing day of their Fall meet.

Here are pre-scratch thoughts on the sequence which carries a 20-cent minimum.

RACE 5

MAYAN WARRIOR (#3) (3-1) appears best of the previous starters. A decent fourth against maiden special weight company in his debut in June, a poor start compromised his chances when favored last time. MO DINERO (#6) (8-1) flashed a little more early foot second out before backing away. Gelded since then and adds blinkers; may improve more.

RACE 6

TIZ A BILLY (#1) (5-2) has won multiple times over this course and distance, and positive class hike back up to $50,000 today. Looks the one to catch. PERFECTLY MAJESTIC (#3) (3-1) a dead-heat second off the claim for Peter Miller last out. Formerly a stakes-quality types against the likes of current stablemate and two-time Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1) winner Stormy Liberal. MY MAN CHUCKLES (#9) (6-1) far more effective down the hill than either two turns or in shorter dashes at Del Mar.

RACE 7

PASTORELLI (#7) (4-1) missed by only three lengths in his dirt debut at Del Mar and still has room for improvement whereas a lot of these are borderline lifetime maidens if not already there. FOR THE HUSTLE (#11) (7-2) the one to catch while shortening  up slightly. Three bullet works since latest.

RACE 8 -- Twilight Derby (G2)

PRINCE EARL (#2) (6-1) exits a solid, first-level allowance win at Del Mar. Tough spot to make his stakes debut, but best fits even with just two starts under his belt. PUBILIUS SYRUS (#5) (15-1) one of this circuit's best two-year-old on grass last year when second best to Analyze It in the Cecil B. DeMille (G3). Off most of the year and presumably way better than what his Del Mar Derby (G2) run off a long layoff would suggest. Three-time stakes winner RIVER BOYNE (#8) (5-2) is perfect from four starts over the Santa Anita lawn.

RACE 9

JUNGLE WARFARE (#3) (6-1) has been spending a lot of time running in sprints during his career, but bred to be more effective at two turns, which he gets today. SURFING STAR (#6) (7-2) ran away from Cal-bred allowance types last time after getting pressured most of the way. Perhaps capable of repeating against open company. LONGDEN (#10) (6-1) likely needed last following a five-month spell. Sharper for this?

RACE 10

NEPTUNE'S STORM (#2) (4-1) okay in his turf debut where he narrowly missed third. FARQUHAR (#4) (5-1) adds blinkers and Lasix following debut fifth at Gulfstream. Trainer Vladamir Cerin has respectable numbers with new acquisitions. LEADER OF MEN (#8) (10-1) debuts here for Simon Callaghan and perhaps the best bred horse in the field. He's a War Front half-brother to Grade 1 winners Hoppertunity and Executiveprivilege.
