Plotting a Rainbow 6 ticket for Gulfstream Park on Tuesday

June 29th, 2020

A mandatory Rainbow 6 payout will be held at Gulfstream Park on Tuesday (Races 4-9). There is a current carryover into the pool exceeding $407,000, which promises to multiply by the opening leg.

Race 4 - Maiden Claiming

Fillies will dash 5 panels on the turf in a $12,500-$10,500 maiden claiming event. #4 Dinner at Five ran a winning race in defeat last time and is a must-use to kick the bet off. #3 Shez Stuck Up makes sense as well, and I will try to get out of the opener going two-deep.

Race 5 - Claiming

Sprinters will face off in a 5 1/2-furlong test on the main surface. #2 Hero Tiger (5-2) takes a huge class drop to the $10,000 level in his first for Rivelli and must be on the ticket. Dark bay could romp on class alone, but I think it’s worth adding others along with the expected short-priced choice.

#3 Hero of the Future (8-1), #5 Say Adios (4-1), #8 Magnolia Blvd (12-1), and #9 Harper Go Lucky (9-2) will also be added to the wager.

Race 6 - Claiming

An overflow field of 13 fillies will travel 6 furlongs on the dirt. #1 Dixieland Humor (5-2) has improved since adding blinkers two prior and gets top billing for Ralph Nicks. It’s an aggressive single in a large field, but I expect the He’s Had Enough filly to save ground and run them down late under Zayas.

Race 7 - Allowance/Optional Claiming

An octet of 3-year-olds are entered for a 5-furlong test on the lawn. The fleet #1 Zaino Boyz (7-2) is a must-use from the rail as the potential speed of the speed in a cast loaded with pace. Unbeaten #6 Sea Lover (5-2) has to be on the ticket, and I will also include stout late runner #8 Legendary Prince (3-1).

Race 8 - Claiming

Seven-eighths affair for fillies and mares features a field of eight running for a $16,000 tag. #8 Panarea (8-5) gets back on the dirt following a try on the green, and the Sano charge is the most obvious play in the field.

#2 Hifalutin (10-1) is the inside pace of the race and could be dangerous if she clears under Mario Pino. Biondetti sophomore is a nice price on the morning line as well.

Race 9 - Claiming

The finale, a turf dash at 5 furlongs, attracted an overflow field of 14 fillies and mares. I will spread with a handful to close it out in a race that looks ripe for an upset. #2 I’m Prayingforthat (7-2), #3 Poseidons Princess (12-1), #8 Princess Avril (5-1), #11 Grey Manners (15-1), and #12 Cookie Cove (3-1) are the ones.

Suggested Wager

20-cent Rainbow 6:

  • 3,4 with 2,3,5,8,9 with 1 with 1,6,8 with 2,8 with 2,3,8,11,12
  • Total: $60

Good luck!
