Progress Pace Score At $20; Short Week Spikes Across The Board

Our special early edition began with state-breds at Dover. In the two-year-old colt division we were second with Touch Of White ($3.80, $3.40). Our other choices included the race favorite, Zulu, finishing fourth, and Chauffer (9-1), finishing seventh. A 4-1 shot took the championship.

Our choice, Playoff Season (12-1) in the filly division, broke and was eliminated. The public’s second choice won.


Wednesday, Nov. 27

The early-edition special was the Progress Pace for glamour-boy pacers and it became our big score at Dover.

Bettors following TwinsSpires harness blog were treated to the stakes’ winner, Shake That House ($20.20, $6.00, $4.00). As we predicted, he beat the favorite—Captain Crunch, who was never our soph-colt pacing favorite.

In the state-bred stakes for colt pacers we were second with race-favorite American Nitro ($2.80, $2.20) and third with Undercovershamrock ($4.20), while our other exotic probability, While Lands (78-1) finished seventh. The public’s second choice won the race.

In the filly pace we finished fourth with Shes Got The Lynx (32-1) to the race favorite.
 

H2W LIST RESULTS

The H2W results list across-the-board prices. Also, exactas listed are included when a H2W horse finishes second with a race favorite or the first two finishers making up the exacta are H2W horses (an asterisk appears when both horses were listed to complete a cold exacta). The note “ok” determines that prices published are correct even when a show price exceeds a place price or any or all of the prices are the same. This week, there were 28 active horses (a 11-percent win hit rate and a 39-percent ATB [across-the-board] hit rate).

News & Notes

The Meadowlands reminds all bettors that the track switched to a three-day race schedule on Thursday, Dec. 5. The New Jersey harness mile adds Thursday evening racing to its weekly rotation for the final month of 2019. With the added night of betting action, there are quite a few additions to the condition sheet, some of which highlight a series of charitable initiatives for horses fitting lower-end claiming and  conditions.

Thanks to Northfield Park for inviting our choices to be included in the role call of handicappers adding ticket choices to the huge carryover of the track’s 20-cent Single Six this past week that had to be distributed. The TwinSpires harness blog ticket was only worth $4.80, though it specified to be played five times, making it a $24 cost. That item was not posted, but as it turned out it did not matter because we handicapped the Tuesday program instead of the Wednesday program. It was the best excuse for not hitting one of the six legs involved.

Freaky Feet Pete has been added to the stallion roster for 2020. The fastest and richest son of Indiana’s leading pacing sire Rockin Image will stand at Ivy Land Farm in Indiana. Freaky Feet Pete was a divisional champion in the state at two and three. Freaky Feet Pete won four INSS eliminations and three preliminary finals. He capped off his freshman campaign with an eye popping 1:50.4 victory in the $200,000 ISS Super Final over an off track. His 1:50.4 clocking was just a tick off the 1:50:3 track record that he set earlier in the season. Freaky Feet Pete raced in major stakes all over the country through six seasons. Freaky Feet Pete retires with a record of 76-37-7-5, career earnings of $1,617,056 and a lifetime mark of 1:47:1.
