ROUND 2 of the Southland $25,000 HOUND MADNESS STAKES Set to Run Saturday, March 11

Highlighting this weekend's greyhound racing at Southland will be the running of Round 2 of the 2017 HOUND MADNESS STAKES on Saturday evening, March 11. The field of 64 entries has been cut to 32 and these greyhounds will be giving it their all in their quest for the prestigious title. Round 1 brought some surprises, none bigger then the elimination of Oaks Maddy who just recently won the BetAmerica Daytona 550 National Championship race. Also eliminated was Xkt Dave Turin who was also a number one seed. In this extremely exciting and challenging stakes contest in which a greyhound can advance by finishing ahead of the greyhound they are bracketed against, we as racing fans are sure to see a lot more surprises as each round progresses.

There are 5 rounds and then the finals between the remaining two greyhounds. I have listed the dates below and hope you can join us as we watch some of the best greyhounds in the country go paw to paw chasing after the championship. SE TALI SUNDANCE, BRASKA DALE, COUNSELOR, BARTS GIRL, CLASSY WOLVERINE & VJ ON THE RIVER are among the high seeded runners that were able to avoid being upset and moved on to Round 2.
