SOUTHLAND Preview - January 2, 2015
Friday's card at Southland Greyhound Park has several promising wagering opportunities and I've listed them below. The evening's racing is highlighted by COUNSELOR running in the 8th race, he's a very impressive greyhound and capable of running a big race each time out. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 3 - Our first pick of the evening is a Grade M contest over the 583 yard course and the choice is the (8) TJAYS WRAP IT UP. He has shown some early speed out of the box but I like his strong closing move to be the edge in this one. He has an inside running style and with all the early speed in this race, I think he will break slow and drop under finding running room on the inside in which to make his late run.
Race 8 - This looks like the best bet of the evening, a Grade AA contest over the 583 yard course and featuring one of the best greyhounds running anywhere in the (2) COUNSELOR. With 23 top four finishes in 24 starts, including 14 wins, this talented young greyhound is impressive each time out. I do think the (1) FLYING TURBO TOES will be in the chase somewhere but all my tickets will have COUNSELOR on top. Key 2 with 1/3/8
Race 18 - I'm going with the (2) FLYING RAINMAKER in this Grade A contest over the 583 yard course. He's a consistent runner that has encountered some trouble as of late but I like him here as he's a recent drop in class and I think being back in A grade gives him the edge here.
The MoneyMaker play of the evening is in the 17th race, a Grade AA contest over the 583 yard course and I like the (3) CROWN AND CREST as the key. He has 12 top three finishes in 26 races which includes 9 wins and his strong rush to the turn should have him in good position to get the win here.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
