SOUTHLAND Preview - MoneyMaker Monday, January 12
Welcome to another MoneyMaker Mike's Longshot Monday at Southland Greyhound Park. As I posted last week on TwinSpires, some of you had requested I have several MoneyMaker plays instead of the usual one that I have, so during January I've decided Mondays will feature four longshot MoneyMaker Mike picks so take a look below at the choices for Monday's twilight card. As always, the MoneyMaker pick is a play that is not listed on the morning line and which hopefully will result in putting some extra $$$$$ in our pockets. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 5 - (1) BOC'S MINION:
The first longshot MoneyMaker pick of the program is in this 5th race, a Grade C contest over the 660 yard course and the choice is the (1) BOC'S MINION. She is a double drop in class, having run in A grade less than a month ago and in fact finished 3rd in a B grade race just two weeks back. The added distance I feel will help her as she's been having some trouble getting by the first turn as of late. She is capable of some decent early speed so she could clear the turn in good shape here. I look for big odds on her and believe she's got a shot at being the surprise of the evening.
Race 9 - (4) AQIB TALIB:
This is a Grade B contest over the 583 yard course and I'm going with the (4) AQIB TALIB as the key for this MoneyMaker play. I realize he hasn't shown much in his return to the track after being off for a while but he is capable of hitting the front and holding on so at the good odds I think he will go off at, he's worth at least a small play in case he does clear early. Keep in mind he does have 16 top two finishes in 44 races despite having some rough trips lately.
Race 11 - (1) PJ RICCO SUAVE:
Here we have a Grade B race over the 583 yard course and I'm going with the (1) PJ RICCO SUAVE to pull the upset and keep the longshot MoneyMaker Monday hot streak going. With 9 wins already in his young career and with the coveted one box his starting position, I like him to come out fast and be among the leaders at the turn. From there, he will challenge for the front and I believe he has just enough in the tank to pull out a win at the wire. I will key him with both the 7 and the 8, in quinielas and tri's.
Race 15 - (1) KL'S KYLEA:
Grade B contest over the 660 yard course has me going with the (1) KL'S KYLE in the last MoneyMaker pick of the evening on this longshot Monday. He can run from anywhere on the track and does have 8 top two finishes in his young career of 16 races which includes 5 wins. Two of those wins have come at distances of 660 and 703 yards so he's capable of getting the job done here.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
