SOUTHLAND Preview - Saturday evening, December 20
Saturday evening's card at Southland Greyhound Park features 18 exciting and entertaining races and I've picked out 4 of them as good solid wagering opportunities. I've listed them below for you to check out and remember, TwinSpires is your one stop wagering site for all your sports wagers. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 4 - This contest features the (5) KL'S NO REGRETS who is one of our 5 up and coming dogs at Southland for January that we posted a few days ago. To say he has been a very impressive young greyhound so far is putting it mildly. He schooled twice and won both by multiple lengths. He then won his first official start, a Grade M race that he ran away with winning by 16 1/2 lengths. He then followed that up with a Grade D win by 5 lengths. He is a wide runner that not only has a tremendous rush to the turn but a strong late move as well. If that wasn't enough, he has improved on his time in each race and in all four races he's had the lead at the turn and most telling of all, he hasn't been passed once he gets the lead. All in all, the future for this talented young pup is bright indeed. I will also mention that in this race is the (6) OSHKOSH GOOBER who was one of my 5 up and coming greyhounds for December. He is 5 out 5 in the money with 2 wins already, 2 seconds and a 3rd place finish in his young career. He also has a very good rush and it should be one heck of a battle between these two as they battle for the early lead. This is a Grade C contest over the 583 yard course and a race worth watching for sure.
Race 5 - This race is a Grade M contest over the 583 yard course and I'm going with the (8) RCK BELIZE to get her first official win. She has 9 top four finishes in 13 races and the reason I like her here is mainly due to her drawing the 8 box. She is a mid track runner and hasn't had the eight box yet in her young career so I think this post position will be the edge she needs to get the win. You will notice she has had some trouble getting around the first turn in some of her races but I believe this time she gets out fast and avoids early trouble putting her in good postion to use her strong closing speed to catch the leaders down the stretch.
Race 9 - In a field full of tough competition I'm going with the (8) COUNSELOR to get the job done. It's a Grade AA contest over the 583 yard course and even though there are strong greyhounds running, I think his record speaks volumes about the kind of consistency he has shown so far in his young career. He has 21 top four finishes in 22 races and this includes 12 wins already. He's talented and smart and gives 110% each and every time out and worthy of giving a shot each time he runs. I like him to win and will have him on top in tri's and superfectas with the 2/4/6.
Race 18 - Here we have the MoneyMaker pick of the evening, it's a Grade A race over the 660 yard course and the choice is the (1) DISTANT DAYS. He has an inside running style so the one box may be just what he needs to get the job done so I'll give him a shot in this one.
Good luck to everyone.
