SOUTHLAND Preview - Saturday Evening, December 31
A really nice program to end the 2016 season at Southland Greyhound Park is on tap for Saturday evening and I hope you can join us. The 18 races are highlighted by several greyhounds that I am interested in seeing how they do and I have listed these races and the runners below that I will be keeping an eye on for the evening. I hope everyone has a very Happy New Year and that 2017 brings each of you peace, good health and happiness.
Race 1 - 334 yards - Grade TC - FIESTA DE GAMA (3 box) - While he's not on the morning line he is the class of this race and I look for him to take advantage of the drop back to Grade C to show a big effort here.
Race 4 - 660 yards - Grade D - PERFECT SIGHT (2 box) - This hard running greyhound is looking for her first win in 45 starts and I'm hoping she gets it. While she hasn't won yet she does have 28 top four finishes in 44 starts and with her being so long overdue for a first place finish, why not end the year with a big bang and get the win.
Race 10 - 660 yards - Grade TAA - OSHKOSH KID (7 box) - The highlight of the evening card in my opinion as he goes for his 31st win of the season. His record speaks for itself with 48 top four finishes in 53 starts, talk about consistency, there it is.
Race 13 - 583 yards - Grade D - VJ I'M ON FIRE (1 box) - Drawing the one box and having good early speed, I'm going to be watching this rail runner to see if he can hold the lead after having faded in his last two starts.
