SOUTHLAND Preview - Sunday matinee, December 14
Sunday at Southland Greyhound Park features 18 exciting races and several that stand out as good wagering possibilities. I have listed those choices below and I'm looking forward to putting some extra cash in our pockets with some solid picks. Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
Race 1 - Here we have a Grade B contest over the 583 yard course and the pick is the hard running (6) TEBUCKY JONES. He has decent early speed which should put him among the leaders to the turn and I think he will be in good position on the rail by then for his inside running style. I think the drop in grade gives him the edge needed so he's the key here.
Race 2 - In this Grade M contest over the 583 yard course I'm going with the impressive young greyhound (4) BA JOE COOL. He has won all three of his schooling races, one by 1 1/2 lengths, one by 8 1/2 lengths and one by 9 lengths. Once he gets in front, he pours it on. This being his first official start, I'm thinking he comes out fast and gets the rail, rushes the turn and opens it up late. Odds won't be much but he sure looks like the one to beat.
Race 4 - This Grade C contest over the 583 yard course features one of our 5 up and coming young greyhounds for December at Southland and is the (2) OSHKOSH GOOBER. He is 4 out of 4 in the money with two wins already in his short career and with his early speed along with his rail running style, he's well posted to get his 3rd win in his last 4 races.
Race 13 -The MoneyMaker pick of the afternoon is in this Grade TB contest over the 703 yard distance course and I'm going with the (4) KR AMP ME UP as the key in this one. I like him based off his last race in which he broke well and was running good until being blocked and bumped on the escape turn. He still managed to come back and finished a solid third and I was impressed enough by his effort to give him a play here. Odds should be good so he's worthy of giving a shot.
Race 15 - This Grade A contest over the 703 yard course features one of the best young greyhounds running at Southland, the (5) PJ REFINED. She likes it mid to wide and has tons of early speed. The last three times she has run at this distance, she has two wins to show for them. Though she has had some trouble lately, she definitely shouldn't be overlooked here. I like her to hit the lid and never look back.
Good luck to all.
