SOUTHLAND Preview - Wednesday, December 10
Welcome to another Wednesday of twilight greyhound racing at Southland as we have several good wagering opportunities for you. There is a solid pick in the first race as well as one of the 5 up and coming young greyhounds for December running in the second. I also have two interesting MoneyMaker picks that have a good chance to put cash in your pocket this evening. Thanks for reading and good luck to all.
Race 1 - Right off the bat, we have an impressive looking young pup in a Grade M contest over the 583 yard course and the pick here is the (8) PJ BOOMBASTIC. He's had two schooling runs, both from inside posts and has won each of them, on by 4 1/2 lengths, the other by 9 1/2 lengths. He appears to have a mid-track running style so the eight box should provide him plenty of room to go along with his early speed and strong closing move. In his first official start I like him to hit the lid and hold the lead to the wire.
Race 2 - Here we have a Grade C race over the 583 yard course and the choice is one of our 5 up and coming young greyhounds for December running from the two box. It's the (2) OSHKOSH GOOBER who won all three schooling races in impressive fashion and has followed that up with 2 wins and a third place effort in her 3 official starts. This pup can run and she seems to be getting better each time out. A rail runner with tons of early speed is the key here for me.
Race 13 - This is my first MONEYMAKER play of the evening, a Grade A contest over the 660 yard course, I'm going with the (1) DEACON CLAYBORNE to pull the upset. He's had his share of trouble lately, and the field is competitive here but he does have 2 wins, a second and a third place finish in his last six races from the one box. He's a wide runner but capable of hitting the lid and being among the frontrunners right out of the box. I think he breaks good here and finds outside running room early.
Race 17 - Here we have another MONEYMAKER play in this Grade AA race over the 660 yard course and the pick here is the (3) MR SHILLELAGH to be the key. He's a mid to wide runner with good early speed, and just like our pick in Race 13, I like him to come out fast and be in great position early in which to make his run. For those of you who like playing tri's and superfectas, I would include him on them just in case his early speed doesn't hold up against this tough field.
Good luck to everyone.
