Southland's Winner of the 2017 $25,000 HOUND MADNESS STAKES is FLYING WOLF PACK!!!!!

After nearly 4 weeks of eliminations in Southland's 2017 $25,000 HOUND MADNESS STAKES, it all came down to this, a head to head matchup between the remaining talented two greyhounds and FLYING WOLF PACK takes home the title by winning the paw to paw battle with Classy Wolverine in Friday evening's final. Both runners came out of the LESTER RAINES KENNEL and while there were upsets and surprises thruout the tournament, each of these fine greyhounds deserved to be in the championship race.

Flying Wolf Pack who was seeded 6th came out of the box quickly and was able to get to the rail and maintain a 2 to 3 length lead in going box to wire. Classy Wolverine, a number one seed, gave a valiant effort trying to close the gap but it just wasn't to be. Congratulations to Flying Wolf Pack on the impressive stakes win and hats off to Classy Wolverine for his runner-up finish. A big shout out to the Lester Raines Kennel on having both greyhounds in the final. On a personal note, this is my last Southland blog so I want to thank all of you racing fans that have read and followed me over the past 3 years and I want to especially thank BetAmerica for the opportunity they gave me and for all the support they have given to me during this time.
