TwinSpires.com partaking in "Climbing Everest" for charity

TwinSpires.com is among 12 prominent Thoroughbred industry personalities and organizations invited by Sky Racing World to participate in "Climbing Everest," a charity promotion linked to this week's running of the A$13 million Everest (G1) at Royal Randwick in Sydney, Australia.

Sky Racing World, the Louisville, Kentucky-based distributor of international racing content and subsidiary of Australian wagering operator Tabcorp, will donate $5,000 to the charity of the winning participant's choice. TwinSpires.com's chosen charity is the Kentucky Equine Humane Center. TwinSpires.com has been assigned Gate 11 and now awaits the midweek official barrier/gate draw which will determine the horse allocation for each participant.

Inaugurated in 2017, The Everest is a weight-for-age, six-furlong sprint and the richest turf race in the world. It will be run Saturday, October 13, with a 12:30 a.m. (EDT) post time in the U.S. Resembling the Pegasus World Cup (G1), horse owners buy a slot in the race, forming a field of 12 starters. Each slot costs A$600,000.
