Thursday, Sept. 10
Everyone agreed we us that Emma Town Bud ($3.20, $2.40, $2.10) was best colt trotter at Hoosier in leg five of the sires-stakes (INSS) series. Considering the trotter’s dominance, the in price as very fair.
Friday, Sept. 11
The crowd also agreed with us in the INSS first of two splits for filly pacers when Somebody Silly ($2.20, $2.10, $2.10 ok) won easily.
However, we were in the minority and up in cash for the best INSS priced winner in round two with Genie Rockwell ($16.20, $5.80, $2.60). We just missed the exacta as our second choice, Priceless ($2.10) finished third.

Exactas listed include a H2W horse finishing second to a race-favorite or if the first two finishers are H2W horses (an asterisk appears when both horses are listed—a cold exacta). The note “ok” determines that prices are correct (even when a show price exceeds a place price or all prices are the same).
Please note that some results reflect horses racing after the blog posts (they appear the following week).
This week, there were 38 active horses (a 8-percent win hit rate and a 42-percent ATB [across-the-board] hit rate).

NEWS & NOTES
Racing at Rosecroft begins Wednesday, Sept. 23. Thise fall’s meet gets underway a few weeks earlier than originally planned, after the spring meet was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. Rosecroft will race every Wednesday and Sunday through Dec. 23, with a night time post of 7:15 p.m.
Post time at Batavia moved from 6 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 12 and remains at that time for the rest of the meet. Batavia races Wednesday and Saturday; both days will start racing at 5 p.m. The only exceptions will be Saturday, Oct. 3 that will start at 7:05 p.m. due to the Preakness; Saturday, Oct. 31 because of Halloween; and Saturday, Nov. 7 for the Breeders’ Cup, both of which will begin at 1:15 p.m. The meet runs through Saturday, Dec. 12.
According to the Standardbred Owners Association of New York, there will not be a shutdown of racing at Yonkers as previously scheduled. Originally, racing was to take a break after Saturday, Sept. 12. After talks with MGM Resorts, owner of the track, Yonkers will continue racing on the same four-day schedule and will return to a five-day-per-week schedule through Dec. 22.
The 75th Delaware, Ohio Fair meeting begins on Sunday Sept. 20 and ends on Thursday Sept. 24 with the Little Brown Jug. Our blog schedule may change to address as many races as possible during the fair meet. We will announce our coverage plans soon so that bettors are able to watch and wager on Twinspires.
