Bahrain International Trophy

The Bahrain International Trophy is a Group 3 international Thoroughbred racing event held in the Kingdom of Bahrain by the Bahrain Turf Club.

The Bahrain International Trophy will be run on Friday, November 18, 2022.

Automatic Invitation

  • There will be three races which will grant 'Automatic Invitation' to the winners even if not originally entered.
    • Saturday 13th August, The Curragh
      • Royal Whip Stakes (G3)
    • Saturday 20th August, York
      • Strensall Stakes (G3)
    • Saturday 8th October, Newmarket
      • The Darley Stakes (G3)
  • Acceptances from winners of the above races must be confirmed within 14 days of the entry closing date on Wednesday 5th October.
  • Total Race Value will be £600,000 ($706,398).
    • Distributed in the following order:
    • £360,000 ($423,838) to the winning horse
    • £120,000 ($141,279) to the second
    • £60,000 ($70,639) to the third
    • £36,000 ($42,383) to the fourth
    • £24,000 ($28,255) to the fifth
  • Racing Conditions
    • 3 years old & up
    • There will be a maximum field size of 14 runners.
    • 2000 metres on the turf in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
    • Enter by noon on Wednesday 5th October 2022 – NO entry fees on that date.
    • Horses need to be rated 95 or over by their domestic authority at the time of closing.
    • Final declaration will be done on Sunday 13th November, 11am The Kingdom of Bahrain time
    • NO declaration fee
    • Declarations to be made to racing@rehc.gov.bh
    • Post Position Draw to take place on Wednesday 16th November in The Kingdom of Bahrain.
    • REHC will guarantee at least three slots in the Bahrain International Trophy for locally trained horses.
  • Weights
    • Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere 4-year-olds and upwards 58 Kgs
    • Northern Hemisphere 3 year olds 56.5 Kgs
    • Fillies and Mares allowed 2 Kgs.
    • No penalties to carry
