Moyglare Stud Stakes Race History
The Moyglare Stud Stakes is a Group I horse race run each year at Curragh Racecourse in Kildare, Ireland. The race is named after Moyglare Stud, the races long term sponsor and one of Irelands most successful stud farm. Some of the notable horses to come out of Moyglare include Assert (1982 Irish Derby Stakes winner), Twilight Agenda (over $2 million in career earnings), and Media Puzzle (2002 Melbourne Cup winner).
Since 1980, Christy Roche has held the record for most wins by a jockey when he notched his fourth while riding Arctique Royale to victory in 1980. In 2024, trainer Aidan O'Brien guided the impressive filly Lake Victoria to a win for his record tenth career win at the race.
The race is part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series, offering the winners automatic entry into the Breeders' Juvenile Fillies Turf.
