Daily Selections and Free PPs for Belmont Stakes 148
The third and final jewel of the Triple Crown is upon us, and TwinSpires.com is here to help you handicap the field and pick a winner!
After drawing gate 11, Preakness winner and Kentucky Derby runner-up Exaggerator has been installed as the 9-5 morning line favorite. He’ll be challenged two Todd Pletcher-trained colts in Stradivari (5-1) and Destin (6-1), along with Preakness runner-up Cherry Wine (8-1)
Also in the mix is the latecomer Gettysburg (30-1) who adds early speed to the longest leg of the Triple Crown.
Check out our Belmont Stakes News & Notes page for all our coverage of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. We’ve also provided FREE PPs and Daily Selections for the Belmont Stakes below.
Thanks for playing with TwinSpires.com and good luck!

9/5 | Nothing not to like about this guy but he has some questions to answer. Can he run another big race after three straight sensational ones? He won’t get a wet track today so how much did his Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Preakness have to do with it? Plus, the Derby had a storm an hour before and the horses came back wet. Was he the beneficiary of a pace meltdown on a tiring racing surface?

6/1 | Destin’s Derby effort was not bad and now he gets five more weeks off for this. So, the Belmont Stakes is his second start in 13 weeks; a handicapping angle in the Triple Crown races that I don’t remember ever seeing. He has trained steadily for this and he has a strong pedigree to get the distance being a full-brother to CREATIVE CAUSE (Giant’s Causeway), winner of the Norfolk Stakes (G1) at two going two turns.

5/1 | If he runs back to his Keeneland allowance win when he cruised behind the leader and then took over to win by 14 lengths in fast time going nine furlongs, he will be tough in here. But if I am going to hold it against Exaggerator and how he can recover three weeks later racing over that track, I have to hold it against Stradivari, even though he is making his second start in eight weeks. |
