Betting With, and Against, Accomplished Girl in Kelly Memorial Stakes
A full field of fillies and mares will travel about 5 1/2 furlongs over the Fair Grounds turf on Saturday in the $100,000 Robert Kelly Memorial S. Pan Zareta S. heroine #6 Accomplished Girl (3-1) is the morning-line choice in the affair for conditioner Steve Asmussen.
Accomplished Girl – With
- $1 trifecta 6 with 1,4,5 with all ($27)
- 50-cent superfecta 6 with 1,4,5 with 1,4,5 with all ($24)
Accomplished Girl – Against
- $2 trifecta 1,4 with 1,4,5,6 with 1,4,5,6 ($24)
- 20-cent superfecta 1,4 with 1,4,5,6 with 1,4,5,6 with all ($19.20)
By Street Boss, the Kentucky-bred looked the part in her first run on this lawn two back when sweeping to the lead in the lane and powering home to a 1 1/2-length triumph over a nice field. The five-year-old chestnut was last seen checking in a solid third in an off-the-turf stakes contest at this venue, and she will relish the return to the green on Saturday. This tactical mare picks up Jose Ortiz and will be well placed as the field approaches the turn for home.

#1 Danse Macabre (4-1) has been first or second in nine of her 11 lifetime tries on the green and seems poised to give a nice account of herself in her local debut. Trained by Kelsey Danner, the Army Mule chestnut raced just twice in 2024 and went unplaced in the Ladies Turf Sprint S. (G2) at Kentucky Downs in her seasonal finale, but she was consistently good prior to that uncharacteristic effort and I will give her a pass for it. Grade 3 heroine can adapt to any pace scenario and looms large beneath Adam Beschizza.
The Mac Robertson-trained #4 Cupids Crush (5-1) is 5-for-7 on the carpet in her career and rallied from last to be runner-up in the Pan Zareta two prior. By Cupid, the five-year-old Minnesota-bred is capable of flashing big speed, or taking back and making one run late, and she cuts back in distance while getting back on her preferred surface second time off the layoff. Jeiron Barbosa will pilot the win threat.
I don’t love the chances of #5 Cecile (8-1) winning the contest, but the Mendelssohn mare has performed well in two straight outings on the course and has arguably never been better. One of two in the field for conditioner Lindsay Schultz, the five-year-old has improved since cutting back to sprint trips in her last three endeavors and has the positional speed to be in range throughout the heat, as well. Axel Concepcion has the call atop the exotics player.
